ABOUT CHRISTINE  CHRISTINE D. WINTERS
She was raised by her divorced mom, not an easy feat in the 1950's. She obtained her first paying job at the age of 5. Babysitting herself, as the teenage babysitters were not as responsible as Christine. A born entrepeneur, Christine was taking in laundry, babysitting, picking blackberries, doing miniature paintings and washing windows by the age of 9. She got her first legal business license at 12. Her company was Art's and Chris. She traveled to art fairs and displayed her work, she also did pencil portraits for $5.00 each, her mom would drive her, and she would sleep in the back of the car. Christine met her first husband Calvin, while in 6th grade, then married him two years later. Her only son Tom, was born in 1968. Christine had turned 15 only 10 days before her son was born. At the time, she was the only person working in their family of 5. Christine's first "real" job was as a receptionist for a printing company in down town Tacoma, and she learned many of the professional type setting and layout techniques that she still uses today. She is a gifted and experienced artist and psychic, (she is well known throughout the country for her Soul mate Portraits, Guardian Angel and Past Life Portraits and also for Passion Play the Fortune Telling Card Deck Channeled by an Angel). She is a High Priestess and her familiar's name is Draggon Doggin.
Many people have asked Christine exactly how does she start a piece of Psychic art? And what is the process. The first thing I do is receive the information from spirit, it may come in a vision, in a dream, or I may simply see something on the paper in front of me. This can be the most difficult part, as sometimes I try to figure out what I am drawing, and then I get in my own way. The actual artistic process starts with a pencil drawing on tracing paper. I use a mechanical pencil, because I like a really tight small dark line, and I use tracing paper, because it stands up to continuous erasings (with a kneading eraser over and over again.) Then once, I have the drawing the way I like it, I then start the coloring in process-I have used a colored pencil sketch for this demonstration, but it is essentially the same for every medium I use. I start laying in the under colors, such a dark green for shadows on the face and body, and hair. I then add layers of color to fill in the image. The last thing I do, is to add highlights and deep shadows, which I find to be the most important thing in making a picture look "real." Now, here is some of the "psychic" stuff of this drawing. I was commisioned to do a piece for the Fall cover of a magazine, they wanted a field with pumpkins and a scare crow. I personally didn't want to draw that, as it was so "normal". So, while I was worrying about how I was going to draw that "normal" and boring cover, my hand went to my sketch pad, and I started to get a "feeling" to sketch this face. I first saw those mesmerizing eyes, then the entire picture came together, in just a few minutes. I decided to draw this and send it to them, in addition to the one they had commisioned. They used both, one for the front cover, and one for the back. But there is MORE: the day after I finished this drawing, I got some prints done, then I went to the psychic showcase at a local restaurant, I put out my prints for sale. And everyone stopped and stared at the new picture. I thought it was nice, but why were they staring? Then the waitress walked in, the picture looked exactly like her. She bought a print right on the spot, and I knew this was one of the reasons I had to draw this. I had never seen that waitress before, nor since. © 2009 Enchanted Castle
